Site Rebuild

As you can see, I'm in the midst of rebuilding the site. It's a pain, but it was time for a change.

2007 Schedule Added
Posted by Entropy_Storm on May 12, 2008 at 10:13 PM
I was originally waiting to add the 2007 Nextel Cup schedule until SBP had released all-new tracks. Since they shut down and then came back, but with most of their tracks to be redone again, I decided to throw the schedule up now. It uses as few third-party party tracks as possible, which was my goal with the version 2.0 schedules.

I may eventually update the 2007 schedule with SBP tracks, but until then, enjoy the schedule as it is now. Since my wife will be giving birth to our third child within the next week, it may be the last thing I put up for a bit. Never fear, the BGN (or should I call it NNS now?) and CTS schedules will eventually make their way back.

Site update (or lack thereof)

Sorry for the lack of updates during the last few months. A couple of weeks before Thanksgiving, we had a bit of a house fire. Fortunately, the house was repairable. However, all of my computer equipment was written off and thrown away. I was able to pull my hard drives and save all the data, but the family has been working with a laptop during our extensive hotel stay while the house was being repaired. Not being a big fan of laptops, I didn't do a whole lot on it other than your basic web browsing and financial stuff.

Now that we're back in the house, and things are getting back to normal, I ordered my new desktop. It should be arriving within the next week, at which point I can commence recovering all the data that is sitting on loose hard drives, and hopefully get some more work done on schedules and painting and such. Stay tuned, updates are on their way.

CUP schedules finished... for now
Posted by Entropy_Storm on November 11, 2007 at 2:37 PM
I'm done with the Winston/Nextel Cup schedules for now.

After earlier stating I'd stop with 2004 or 2005, I instead decided to go to 2006. The reason? Because of the number of "2007" mods I had to rethink the way my NR2003 installs are going to be done. With the release of 3 different CoT mods, the NNC 2007 mod and its conversion to the BGN 2007 mod,the CTS 2007 mod and the promised CTS 2008 mod, my primary install was going to be extremely close to hitting the limit on number of mods, if not over. So, after a bit of thinking, I decided to divide my "primary" install into 2 separate installs, one for 2006 and before, and one for 2007 and beyond.

In keeping with the spirit of this, I decided to mostly stick with original Papy tracks rather than start using SBP tracks. Once SBP has released a majority (if not all) of their updated tracks, I will use those for the 2007 schedules. Personally, I've never felt a pressing need to run the most recent season(s), so waiting for SBP to release the rest of the tracks is no big wait for me. I apologize to those who would like the 2007 schedules, but they just ain't gonna be done right now.

So now I'll be moving on to the BGN schedules and start filling those in. The 1988 schedule is already up for the carset that was released for the Aero88 mod way back when. Because there really aren't a whole lot of historical carsets beyond that one, I'll probably start with either 2000 or 2001 and again end with 2006. That's not nearly the undertaking that the CUP schedules were, so it should go relatively quick, depending on my ambition.

After that, the CTS schedules will get put up. There is a 1995 carset (truckset?) for CTS, so I'll get that done. And then again probably do 2000 or 2001 through 2006. Then again, since the CTS series has only been around since 1995, I may just slam them all out. SG3 Racing has several of the 90s sets in progress, although they don't seem to be working on them a whole lot, so I may just released the schedules just in case.

Three more schedules

Sorry about the delay in getting more schedules out. Someone over at MasGrafx mentioned the ratings that I do, and it finally gave me some motivation to revamp the system I use for those. Of course, now I need motivation to actually use the system...

Anyway, the Winston Cup schedules up through 1999 are now done. Just a few more years to go and I will start on BGN.
